Hi! My name is Jenna and I am married to the wonderful Brian. We got married in July 2012 and welcomed a healthy baby boy into our family in November, 2014. Our second son was born in March, 2017.
I’ve always been an avid crafter and DIYer. It wasn’t until I moved from Ireland to the U.S and bought a home that I realized I wanted a way to share my projects easily with family and friends back home. And so, the blog was born!
While I now stay at home with my two boys, I used to work as a 5th grade teacher. As a teacher, I had a passion for writing and technology (I was a technology consultant/project manager in my first career) so blogging is a way to marry all my passions into one.
We currently own a 1960s Colonial in the Greater Boston Area. This blog is dedicated to my adventures at remodeling and redecorating our house, one frugal project at a time! We love to DIY when we can but we also know our limitations and when it’s a better idea to hire out the work. Especially now with a toddler and a baby, doing projects ourselves is not always feasible. We’ve learned so much in the past few years, though. When we originally bought our house neither of us even knew how to paint…now we are tiling backsplashes, building shelves and reframing windows!
As a kid, I spent my play time constantly decorating my Barbie’s house and ripping pages out of magazines for my “dream home”. I guess the home design bug has always been part of me! I’m also obsessed with fashion and beauty, and I love to cook! My home is by no means perfect, but it’s improving one project at a time. Brian says that I have an unfortunate case of DIY ADD – I tend to get super excited about starting projects and then never quite finish them – so you’ll notice lots of incomplete rooms if you visit the home tour section of the blog. Oh well, it’ll all work out in the long run :-)
I also love to cook and bake and I’ve become quite passionate about healthy products and wholesome food since I became a mom. So you’ll see some of that stuff pop up from time-t0-time, too!
I hope you enjoy my blog – please subscribe or bookmark if you do! Comments and feedback are always appreciated as is email.
